MOLDOW A/S TAKES OVER TELDUST A/S
As of February 9, 2024, Moldow A/S has acquired Teldust A/S. Teldust is a Danish development and production specialist within industrial filters and they will continue their business operations as a subsidiary of Moldow, retaining the Teldust name and head office in Vejle.
– We have often used Teldust as a sub-supplier of the filters in which they specialize and have always regarded them as a reliable supplier with high-quality products. When we were offered the chance to look into a possible acquisition, we accepted. We see opportunities to enhance sales at Teldust and leverage synergies with Moldow and our sister company, BarkerBille, Managing Director at Moldow, K. Preben Hansen explains.
Former owner, and now Technical Director of Teldust, Karl-Heinz Runge founded the company in 1987, and it was his desire to sell the company.
– I have always had a desire to secure the company’s future, and as my retirement age approaches, I began to explore the possibilities. Selling to Moldow was the best scenario for me, so I’m very happy that it worked out. I am convinced that Moldow has the organization to further develop Teldust, and that makes me happy, Karl-Heinz Runge says.
However, Karl-Heinz Runge is not retiring for the time being. As part of the agreement and at his own request, he will continue working for Teldust for a few more years.
– We have had a good dialogue with Karl-Heinz, and we share the same wishes and thoughts for the company’s future. We are therefore also pleased that he will continue to be part of the team and management, as his knowledge is important for the future.
Synergies and Opportunities
Both Moldow and Teldust produce and sell dust filtration solutions. One might therefore think that they are competitors, but this is not the case. Moldow’s and Teldust’s customers, focus and product range are very different, and it will continue to be like that:
- Moldow specializes in turnkey solutions within dust extraction systems, especially for the wood industry, but also for cardboard, paper, mineral wool and airlaid.
- Teldust offers a range of filters for OEM customers across many more industries, including energy, food, chemicals, plastics and metal, but they do not supply complete system solutions.
– We see many synergies and opportunities for us to incorporate each other’s products in our solutions and benefit from the established organizations. In this way, both Moldow and Teldust can offer even better products and solutions within extraction and filtration.
So the companies will continue as before with each their customer segments and focus areas but with added benefits for all customers.
Factory in Poland
In addition to the office in Vejle, Teldust also has a factory and office in Poland, which are also part of the acquisition. The factory, called Pomech, is located in the town of Puck, north of Gdansk. Here, all Teldust filters are produced in addition to other related products.
– The acquisition of a well-functioning production unit in Poland with around 55 skilled employees also provides some great opportunities to optimize our sourcing, K. Preben Hansen says.
With the acquisition, Moldow A/S takes over 100% of the shares in Teldust A/S and their subsidiary Pomech S/A.
K. Preben Hansen becomes Managing Director of Teldust and Karl-Heinz Runge assumes the role of Technical Director. A. Birgitte Ipsen, Frank Jensen and K. Preben Hansen join the board.
