Flexible Powder Coating Line for Aluminum and Steel Items

Flexible Powder Coating Line

Highly Flexible, Automated Coating Line with 7-Step Pre-treatment

This automated painting line for coating of signs and boards was designed by Moldow to meet the requirements of exceptional flexibility. This was a special requirement because the items vary in size and weight and because the customer is also a subcontractor and hereby also surface treats products from third parties.

The high flexibility is accomplished by a high level of plant automation and possibility for quick and easy colour change.

Easy-to-Handle Powder Coating Line

In order to ensure a friendly working environment for the operators, the loading and unloading zones are located in a partially separated area of the production hall. Products are loaded on to the automatic Power&Free conveyor, after which the programming process takes place using the touch screen located nearby the loading platform.

The next step is a 7-step chemical surface pre-treatment. The whole process is placed along one wall, and its subsequent steps occur in four separate chambers. Some of them have double tanks allowing for two processes in just one section. Automatic doors separate the chambers’ internal technological zones from the surrounding environment.

Once the surface treatment process is completed, the elements are dried. After leaving the drying oven, the items are directed to either the manual or automatic painting line according to the pre-programmed guidelines.

Automatic painting takes place in fully automated powder coating booths using two reciprocators with gun applications on both sides of the conveyor line.

The final step is transport to the curing oven, where the components cure according to the preset time and temperature. The curing oven is able to accommodate up to six wagons at the same time.

After leaving the oven, products head to the buffer zone where the items cool down, after which they are directed to the unloading station.
